Abstract
The objective: was to study the features of the epidemic process in the foci of visc eral leishmaniasis in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2014–2016 and the improvement of anti epidemic measures.
Materials and methods. 163 blood samples and 78 samples of human bone marrow were examined, as well as blood samples, contents of wounds and samples from spleen 281 of wild and domestic animals. The following methods of investigation were used: epidemiological observation, microscopic, biological, serological (ELISA, IFA, immunohromatographic test anti-k39 antibody).
Results. 78 cases of the disease were registered, of which 56% are in 2016. Visceral leishmaniasis in 2014-2016 was recorded in 25 districts and cities of Azerbaijan (36% of the territory), including Baku. L.donovani were found in 10.81% of the surveyed domestic dogs, 10.29% of street dogs, 8.33% jackals, 6.55% rodents.
The conclusion. In analyzing the dynamics of time and the spread of foci of visceral leishmaniasis in 2014–2016, it was established that the disease regularly appeared in various regions of the country. It was noted that mosquitoes are more sensitive to a 25% solution of cypermethrin. This drug is less toxic to humans, has a longer lasting effect than other pyrethroids. Therefore, the use of 25% cypermethrin in residential areas is considered more appropriate.
