Assessment of cardiovascular risk in patients without dyslipidemia

Abstract

Evaluation only traditional factors do not always reflect the risk of car diovascular disease (CVD), especially for people without dyslipidemia (DLP).

The objective: identify the most important risk factors (RF) of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in patients without DLP and improve pre diction of cardiovascular complications in these patients.

Patients and methods. The study involved 104 patients (mean age – 51,17±1,06 years) who were divided into 2 groups: Group 1 – 66 people with ACS, Group 2 (comparison) – 38 people without diagnosed coro nary heart disease (CHD). All patients were additionally conducted determination of C reactive protein (CRP), fibrinogen (FG) in serum and ultrasound of the carotid arteries with definition of intima media thickness (IMT) and the presence of atherosclerotic plaque (AP).

Results. In multivariate analysis among Group 1 identified the most significant additional RF affecting the development of ACS (IMT, the presence of AP, the level of CRP). Value IMT was the basis for settle ment prediction form of ACS. Through mathematical modeling was derived formula predicting the emergence of some ACS form in patients without DLP on which was developed cardiovascular risk algorithm in patients without DLP.

Conclusion. The proposed method of predicting cardiovascular events and cardiovascular risk algorithm in patients without DLP improves system of cardiovascular risk evaluation, which is important for the timely prevention of CVD.
