Gingkolides and bilobalides: new perspectives of patients with asthma

Abstract

Was found, that asthma patients often complain of «Recurrent pain in the heart», a «Sense of heart», «Fluctuations in blood pressure», «Periodic headaches», «Tinnitus», «Dizziness», «Confusion and severity of concentration», «Poor memory», «Mood swings», «Severe drowsiness during the day». When used in complex treatment of patients with bronchial asthma drug Cardonat by the process ? the prototype took place a positive trend to a decrease in the proportion of patients with indicators of «Еxcessive daytime sleepiness», «Short sleep during monotonous work», «Increased daytime fatigue», «Gravity concentration», «Distraction», «Restless sleep with fre quent awakenings», «Noise in the ears, dizziness», «Headache in the morning», «Good Night Heartburn», «Mood swings», «Memory loss», «Palpitations and disruption of the heart», «Changes in blood pressure».

Patients and methods. 60 patients participated in the study. They were divided into two groups: I group (30 patients) received a meta bolic cardiocytoprotectors – drug Cardonat 1 capsule 3 times a day for 1 month. Group II (30 patients), immediately after the end of treat ment aggravation of further received within 90 days of daily oral med ication, which is composed of ginkgolides and bilobalide, 1 capsule 2 times a day after meals. All patients received standard basic therapy period of remission, including the use of inhaled corticosteroids prepa ration and B2 agonist short action for relief of asthma symptoms. In the healthy group were selected 15 healthy individuals.

Conclusions. Thus, the use of the drug, which is composed of ginkgolides and bilobalides on basic therapy remission of asthma, allows significantly reduce the percentage of patients with complaints of «Excessive daytime sleepiness» from 53,3±12,9% to 13,3±8,8%, «Short sleep during monotonous work» from 53,3±12,9% to 13,3±8,8%, «Excessive daytime fatigue» from 53,3±12,9% to 6,7±6,4%, «Gravity concentration» from 53,3±12,9% to 6,7±6,4%, «Distraction» from 53,3±12,9% to 6,7±6,4%, «Restless sleep with frequent awaken ings» from the 46,7±12,9% to 13,3±8,8%, «Noise in the ears, dizziness» from 46,7±12,9% to 13,3±8,8%, «Headache morning» from 46,7±12,9% to 6,7±6,4%, «Nocturnal heartburn» from 46,7±12,9% to 6,7±6,4%, «Mood swings» from 53,3±12,9% to 13,3±8,8%, «Reduction of Memory» from 53,3±12,9% to 20,0±10,3%, «Palpitations and disrup tion of the heart» from the 46,7±12,9% to 20,0±10,3%, «Changes in blood pressure» from 46,7±12,9% to 6,7±6,4%.
