Abstract

The authors conducted a review of current medications used for oral rehydration therapy (ORT). Recent decades oral salts solutions remain most important position in rehydration strategy. Experience and evidences demonstrate the high efficiency of ORT in diseases of different etiologies in children. Modified ORT with added probiotics and maltodextrin showed higher efficiency, especially in children with acute infectious diarrhea.
